The Datai Langkawi is one of the top luxury resorts in Malaysia and an icon of luxury hotels in Asia since it's opening almost 25 years ago.
Nestled amongst 10-million year old primary rainforest, the Datai Langkawi is a destination resort in an incomparable setting, overlooking one of Asia's most picturesque bays.
Stunning views, the beauty of the rainforest, fine dining and exquisite service have always been the hallmarks of The Datai - which is why we have been eagerly awaiting the re-opening in July 2018.
So what's changed with our beloved Datai? Well all of the rooms, Suites and Villas have had an uplift - soft lighting, a new colour palette, technological enhancements - but all with the signature Datai DNA.
The Datai's New Canopy Deluxe Room & Rainforest Pool Villa
Three new Rainforest Pool Villas have been added, making 8 in total. These villas are very popular and each has a private pool and deck.
In addition a new 5 Bedroom Estate Villa has been added - one of the largest and most luxurious resort villas in Asia.
The landscaping, main entrance and lobby have all had a revamp and upgrade.
The Datai Langkawi has always been very focused on nature, and a new Nature Centre has been developed, to be led by a team of naturalists led by the ever popular Irshad Mobarak, the Datai's resident head naturalist.
The Spa at the Datai has also been expanded with the addition of 4 new open-air spa pavilions.
One of the most sublime aspects of the Datai, the spa pavilions are located right amongst the rainforest, meaning spa therapies can be enjoyed to the background music of nature.
The Datai's Rainforest Spa & Beach Dining
The Datai is renowned for great cuisine and both the Pavilion and Dining Room restaurants have both been extended in the renovations at the Datai.
Buffet breakfast is served at the Dining Room along with quiet lunches at midday and fine dining in the evenings.

The Pavilion serves Thai Cuisine in a spectacular setting, on 30 metre high stilts amidst the rainforest canopy.
