About Cameron Highlands Resort

Set amidst tea plantations and rolling hills, the Cameron Highland’s Resort is a tranquil boutique hideaway with all the splendour, romance and nostalgia of the Cameron Highlands’ grand colonial heritage.

This luxury boutique resort features 56 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, and offers an award winning spa and 18-hole golf course.

The colonial style rooms and suites at the Cameron Highlands Resort capture the nostalgic elegance of an age where quality and care were a way of life.

Period furniture, Jim Thompson’s finest quality fabrics, teak and silk combine to create an environment that is both beautiful and comfortable.

The Cameron Highlands is about two hours drive from Kuala Lumpur and the resort has private limo transfers.

Sleep in the comfort of large four-poster beds surrounded by a mass of soft cushions, or curl up on the day-bed and read a book, whilst nibbling on fresh strawberries and sipping a cup of locally grown tea – heavenly relaxation!

The resort has a fantastic spa and one of the best reasons to stay here is to partake of a spa treatment or two.

What's so Special?

By far the best place to stay in the Cameron Highlands, this sister hotel to the Pangkor Laut Resort is a great place to spend a night or two on the way from KL to Pangkor Laut, or as a side-trip from the city. Step back to a simpler and more elegant time!

Likewise the bar in the evening is an atmospheric location in which to unwind in an atmosphere echoing the colonial era.

Bear in mind

The Cameron Highlands was the chosen escape of the British plantation owners in Malaysia as an escape from the heat and humidity of lower elevations.

The Cameron Highlands has a great fireplace – bear this in mind if you thought of Malaysia as only sweltering jungle.

This great Asian favourite can be personalised with your selection of succulent seafood or prime meats, an array of farm vegetables and noodles to dip into the simmering fragrant broth. Gonbei is also an ideal location for pre and after-dinner drinks.

Recover with a cup of tea in the drawing room, or a tea bath at the Spa Village, or simply choose to spend the day curled up with a good book by the fireplace.

Spa Village

Cameron Highlands Resort features the Spa Village, a wellness centre with a wide range of sophisticated treatments and healing therapies inspired by the restorative properties of tea.

Each treatment begins with a signature tea bath. Cameron Highlands Spa Village offers tranquil indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, tea-bath rooms and a fully equipped gymnasium.

The Spa Village concept has always been to celebrate the healing culture of the region in which it resides. Set in an emerald landscape of lush farmland and verdant jungle, Cameron Highlands finds its name and culture in the unique blending of two distinctly dissimilar societies: The Orang Asli or 'original people', who were the first settlers of the highlands and the Colonial British pioneers.

The Orang Asli posses a vast body of knowledge not only about plants, herbs and flowers that have the power to heal but also about the whole ethos of living harmoniously with nature.

During the colonial era, British planters realized the potential of the fertile mountain slopes for growing tea, then a prized commodity.

Today the Cameron Highlands is still home to many tea plantations, being Malaysia's largest tea-producing region.

The treatments at Spa Village Cameron Highlands Resort feature healing therapies based on produce from the surrounding jungle and ancient tea rituals. This authentic blending of culture and product is what makes Spa Village Cameron Highlands such a unique and therapeutic healing retreat.

Spa Village Cameron Highlands features 6 Treatment Rooms, 8 Tea Bath Tubs, 2 Outdoor Cabanas and a fully equipped Gymnasium.

Snooker Room

Enjoy leisurely cocktails and enjoy a game of snooker, and allow yourself to be carried to a different era by the vintage piano numbers rendered by the resident pianist.

Tea Plantation Tour

No trip to the Cameron Highlands would be complete without visiting the local tea plantations. In 1929, John Archibald Russell, who was the son of a British administrative officer started a tea plantation which is now the famous Boh Tea Plantation. Later, other tea plantations were established in Cameron Highlands, namely the Bharat and Blue Valley plantations.

Boh Tea estate is wonderfully manicured and visitors are welcome to view the factory production process and enjoy a 'cuppa' at the teashop, part of a new visitors' centre, which provides spectacular views of the plantation. The view of tea trees grown on terraces following the contours of the hill will take your breath away.

Flowers, Vegetables and Fruits!

Fruit and vegetables such as tomato, cauliflower, cabbage and strawberries thrive in the cool climate and fertile soil of the highlands and can be bought either from the market or the farm. There are a few strawberry farms open for visits nearby, some of which allow strawberry picking.

Flowers are also in abundance here. The Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's leading producer of fresh flowers.

A number of flower nurseries can be found alongside the main road from Ringlet all the way to Kampung Raja. There are also a number of rose gardens in the Cameron Highlands with more than 400 species of roses.

The famous Cactus Valley in Brinchang is one of the biggest and most popular sights. Located in the cool mountains of Brinchang, Cactus Valley has many varieties of cactus plants, some as old as 60 years.

They are grown on landscaped gardens, which make for interesting viewing. There are also other plants such as roses and orchids, apple and peach trees, and cherry tomatoes.

Waterfalls and Nature Trails

For nature lovers, a walk in the mountains should be on the agenda. The peaks offer magnificent views of the highlands and its enchanting mossy forest.

There are plenty of jungle walks of varying difficulty and distance, two of which lead to the popular Parit Waterfall and Robinson Waterfall near Tanah Rata.

The most popular mountains for hiking are Gunung Brinchang, Gunung Beremban, Gunung Jasar, Gunung Perdah and Bukit Mentigi.

Night Market

'Pasar Malam' or the Night Market in Brinchang and Tanah Rata takes place every Friday and Saturday from 4 pm, when vendors arrive to set up their little stalls offering an intriguing variety of souvenirs, vegetables and fruits, plants, cactus, indigenous people's handicrafts and weapons, food and many other things.

Orang Asli Village

Orang Asli is a Malay term meaning 'original people'. The Orang Asli are the indigenous people of Malaysia who exist on the fringes of mainstream society - the world of the forest people.

Many Orang Asli villages can be seen in Cameron Highlands and along the road up the hill from the Tapah interchange on the North-South Expressway.

Some of the villages deep in the rainforest can be visited with a guide, a great way to experience how the Orang Asli live.
