Located on Gaya Island, just 15 minutes by speedboat from Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Island Resort offers 120 villas in a stunning natural setting of coral reefs, mangroves and rainforest.

Bear in Mind

Gaya Island Resort is a place to relax and enjoy the environment, some spa treatments and perhaps some day trips around the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. There are no local restaurants and the mainland is a 15-minute boat ride away.

Spacious, tactile and modern, yet respectful of local Sabahan elements, each villa uses local materials to blend harmoniously with the surroundings.

Villa interiors (47 sq. m) are designed with a contemporary elegance and offer a variety of views including mangrove, canopy, tropical rainforest and the South China Sea.

Each villa features a spacious bedroom, a large open bathroom with an oversized bathtub and twin vanities, and an outdoor veranda with day beds.

Bayu Villa

Set amongst a tropical mangrove on a gently sloping hillside, these villas offer a beautiful outlook and are within walking distance from the resort's pristine sandy beach and close to the main resort facilities.

Canopy Villa

Situated on a hillside amidst lush rainforest, the villas offer a peaceful setting with leafy views ranging from the rainforest canopy to the tropical mangroves. Connecting rooms are available for families.

Kinabalu Villa

With views stretching across the South China Sea, and where the silhouette of Mount Kinabalu can be seen on a clear day, these Kinabalu Villas provide the best views in the resort.

Fisherman's Cove

Fisherman's Cove is a fine dining restaurant serving only seafood cuisine. Situated on the resort's rooftop, this restaurant offers exquisitely fresh seafood with a wonderful view of the sea and Mount Kinabalu.

A proper dress code is required with shirt, full-length trousers and shoes for gentlemen and smart casual wear for ladies.

Dining at Fisherman’s Cove is only available to adults and children 16 years of age or above.

Feast Village

This dynamic, all-day dining, open kitchen showcases a bakery, Japanese/Korean, Asian and Western selections.

The location by the lap-pool offers stunning views of Mount Kinabalu and the surrounding beach.

Pool Bar & Lounge

Overlooking the resort's infinity pool and floating cabanas, the Pool Bar & Lounge with its al-fresco location and natural light is the perfect place to relax with sun-downers and light refreshments as the sun sets over Mount Kinabalu.

Tavajun Bay

Set in an enclave at Tavajun Bay, a short 5-minute boat ride from the resort, this tranquil private beach is perfect for private dining and relaxing under the tropical sun, lulled by the gentle sea breeze.

Vibrant flavours and simple presentation predominate here, and earthenware skillets kept warm over charcoal embers hold lunch.

Select a drink from the cooler and settle down to dine on rustic logs or on a beach mat, wriggling your toes in the sun-warmed, pristine sand.
