Hibiscus Villa is a luxurious private villa in Borneo, nestled amongst 2 acres of a former coconut plantation on the stunning north coast of Sabah, on the Kudat Peninsula near the famous Tip of Borneo.
Sleeping up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms, Hibiscus Villa is ideal for a luxury private family villa in Borneo or a spacious private villa retreat for couples.
Hibiscus Villa offers open living inside and out, around an 18 metre long infinity swimming pool which extends right into the villa. Landscaped tropical gardens lead down to a secluded white sandy beach.
The location close to the Tip of Borneo is secluded but there is plenty to do. Many guests choose to walk to the Tip of Borneo, passing through local villages and the stunning 3 km long beach of Pantai Kalampunian.
Villas are partly self-catering, with daily breakfast included. Villas feature fully equipped kitchens and food can be pre-bought and stocked prior to arrival.
A chef is available at a cost of around $20 per guest per day. A free dinner on the night of arrival is included for all stays of 3 nights or more.

Hibiscus Villa is perfectly located for the simple pleasures in life – a quiet stroll along the beach, an afternoon snooze by the pool, a sunset cocktail on the balcony – the perfect location for a few days of luxury after a tour of Borneo. The beach is a long stretch of sand, which feels like a private beach.
Hibiscus Villa is privately owned and immaculately managed by an English owner-manager.

Bear in Mind
The location is secluded, tranquil and peaceful but remote, about 150 km from Kota Kinabalu. The location is great for exploring the north of Borneo but bear in mind that there are no local shops or restaurants within walking distance.
Hibiscus Villa is self-catering, with the exception of breakfast. There are some local restaurants within 5-10 minutes drive from the villa (at the Tip of Borneo) and the nearest town is Kudat, a fishing port about 20-minutes drive away, which has a wider range of local restaurants. Alternatively a chef can be hired.
There is no Wi-Fi and no mobile phone reception within the villa, although a signal can be obtained just a short stroll away. Wi-Fi is available in Internet cafes 5-minutes drive away.
The Villa
Large balconies, folding doors, and an 18 metre long swimming pool extending into the villa are hallmarks of the design, which emphasises indoor-outdoor living blending in with the natural surroundings. All rooms offer stunning coastal and tropical views.
The three bedrooms are all air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms and flat-screen TV’s. Two bedrooms feature King-sized beds and the third has twin beds and two additional built-in pullout beds.
The master bedroom has a large balcony offering spectacular views of the South China Sea.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 are located on the ground floor. Bedroom 2 is at the front of the villa, offering guests beautiful views of the pool and garden. Folding glass and timber doors let the outside in.
There are two large lounge areas, both offering plentiful seating to enjoy the views. The ground floor lounge, with folding doors on two sides, is next to the pool.
The first floor lounge has amazing views across the South China Sea as well a television area with large flat screen satellite TV.
Within the downstairs living area is the open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is constructed of exotic timbers with plush granite work surface and breakfast bar, and is equipped with modern fittings including a dishwasher and American style fridge-freezer with built-in icemaker.
The dining area has an amazing tropical hardwood table, which can accommodate up to twelve people.
As well as the en-suites to the bedrooms, there is a separate shower room and toilet on the ground floor.
All bedrooms and the ground floor lounge, kitchen and dining area enjoy cool and efficient air conditioning. Alternatively, fold back the glass doors and enjoy the fresh natural air and ceiling fans.
The villa has a large swimming pool and a separate paddling pool. To the front and side of the house are grass lawns with a selection of gazebos for lounging, dining and barbeques.
The landscaped tropical gardens are beautiful and in between the coconut trees there are an array of exotic plants and flowers including hibiscus, ornamental bananas, bird of paradise, ginger, red and yellow palms, orchids, tree ferns and many more.
From the front of the villa, a rugged path winds downwards through jungle towards the quiet white sandy beach beside the South China Sea.
