Set on a secluded stretch of beach on the east coast of Sri Lanka, Maalu Maalu is a 40-room resort loosely styled after the design of a Sri Lankan fishing village.
The design aims to echo the wooden clad style of the typical fisherman’s hut. The design is deliberately quite understated.
The beach here is very nice indeed and the resort will really suit those looking for a quiet escape,with some walks on the beach and plenty of relaxing time.
What’s so Special?
Passekudah bay, situated along the east coast of the island is easily one of the best beaches to be found in Sri Lanka, with warm and sunny weather all throughout the year. The sea is calm, clear, and ideal for swimming, diving or snorkeling.
Chalets
The resort consists of 40 quite understated rooms.
The cadjan-covered roofs create a cool interior while the wooden structure and authentic Sri Lankan furnishing give the rooms an authentic touch.
Each Chalet consists of two separate units; one on the ground floor with a second on the upper level with separate access.
Ground floor units offer a terrace whilst the upper level feature balconies. All rooms offer views of Passekudah Bay.
There are 24 Deluxe Rooms, some of which are interconnecting, making these ideal for families.
There are also 8 Deluxe Rooms with Attic, designed specifically for small families or friends travelling together.
The attic level consists of 2 single beds.
The 4 Ocean Suites, located on the ground floor with great Ocean views are ideal for honeymooners.
Above the Ocean Suites, 4 Panoramic Suites offering even better Ocean panoramas.
