Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas

Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas is one of the very best luxury hotels in the Seychelles.

Situated on the main Seychelles Island of Mahe, Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas is more than a sanctuary, more than an escape and much, much more than a hotel.

The symbol of Maia is the lotus blossom and this symbol of peacefulness pervades the whole ethos of the Maia.

Maia’s 30 super spacious villas (250 sq. m) are differentiated only by their location and therefore their unique views. Villas feature a spacious gazebo area with thatched roof, adjacent bar and an oversized day-bed.

What’s so Special?

Impeccable architecture and dining are the hallmarks of this resort, which bills itself as one of the best in the world.

Bear in Mind

There is little in the way of night-time activity and most people retire to their villas after dinner.

Anantara took over the resort in 2020 - it was formerly known as Maia Luxury Resort.

Villas

At Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas, the 30 private villas (250 sq. m) are positioned for maximum views and privacy.

Perched between greenery and granite or bordering the beach, and spread over three pavilions in a private garden space, each villa blends into the landscape and indulges with luxury and design.

A private infinity pool, sunken outdoor bath, oversized glass sliding doors, a glass-walled rainforest shower and bespoke design-touches inspire but never distract from rosé pink sunsets and cerulean seas.

The main pavilion features an air-conditioned high-ceilinged bedroom centered around an extra length king size bed.

Room elements such as hand-shaped scalloped wooden flooring and onyx bowls set in hammered copper alcoves are complemented by buttery soft décor.

The bedroom opens up with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors inviting guests to step into the view.

Extending down past generous closet space, two impressive stone carved sinks are framed by suspended mirrors and views that remain the centre of attention.

A second open sided pavilion is a romantic setting for candlelit dinners or sunrise breakfasts, while a giant daybed for two is perfect for sun-break naps and, the pre-stocked to your preference mini-bar, creates a feeling of home.

Beneath the fringed thatch of a third pavilion, bubbles in a sunken bath and in your glass, Hermès bath collection amenities, floating petals and Mahé island views invite guests to redefine slow-soaks.

The villa’s private infinity pool flows into the panoramic views with refreshing stone-fountain replenished water.

The pool is long enough for gentle morning lengths and intimate enough for champagne sunsets.

Taking inspiration from the Far East and the African continent with European sensibilities, the culture blending design is reminiscent of the Seychelles’ varied past.

Bespoke touches are a constant feature with wrought ironwork, artisan carpentry and stone masonry that is a tactile sensory feast.

Thread counts are high, Hermès amenities are maxi-sized and Wi-Fi is unlimited. The kind of comforts you’d expect or the kind that you could get used to.

Anantara Maia Seychelles Villa’s thirty villas are positioned throughout the thirty acres of private peninsula, each with a different Mahé perspective.

The 13 Ocean Panoramic villas climb throughout the hilly gardens and look out onto bay, beach and ocean.

17 Signature Villas not only benefit from enhanced Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas luxury touches such as late checkouts (depending on availability) and private yoga sessions, but are positioned with a choice of either sweeping ocean panoramas or hidden in the gardens with direct beach access.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Seychelles.

Typically for the Seychelles we will use British Airways for direct flights.

There are currently twice-weekly flights from Heathrow (Wednesdays and Saturdays) direct to Mahe using the Dreamliner.

The flying time for direct flights is around 10 hours, making the Seychelles a little shorter flying time than going to South East Asia.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in the Seychelles, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique & luxury hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller luxury hotels where we think these will be suitable.

Do I need a visa for the Seychelles?

If you're travelling on British Passports, no visa is required for stays of up to a month.

Please double check before travel however as visa requirements are subject to change at any time.

How long have you been organising holidays to the Seychelles?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to the Seychelles since 2009.

We use a very reliable local partner in the Seychelles for our tours and transfers and to assist our clients in the Seychelles. They are a family owned company who are one of the most established and respected local travel companies.

We keep up to date with developments in the Seychelles with regular visits and through our local contacts.

When is the best time to visit the Seychelles?

The driest time of year to visit the Seychelles is normally between June and September.

April to May and October to November can be the best value times of year to visit the Seychelles as these are shoulder-season periods.
