Sacha Lodge is a set on a 5,000-acre private ecological reserve in Ecuador’s Amazon, an accessible yet pristine rainforest sanctuary.

The lodge accommodation consists of 26 cabins with high thatched roofs and private shaded terraces, constructed with traditional materials in the lush rainforest.

Cabins are fan-cooled and insect-screened and guests are often able to see toucans, agoutis and monkeys right from the cabins.

A raised lookout above the main bar and lounge offers scenic views of Pilchicocha Lake and an excellent birding vantage point.

There is an incredibly high diversity of species found around Sacha Lodge, including 17 species of monkey, fantastic birdlife

Sacha Lodge is home to one of the largest butterfly farms in Ecuador, now successfully breeding nearly 40 local butterfly species.

Of course there is no shortage of activities available from the lodge including early morning birdwatching on the canopy walkway, paddling around the lake in indigenous dugout canoes, swimming or fishing for piranhas off of the dock, or spotting caymen on the lake at night.
