Sahab Hotel Nizwa is one of the most tranquil and unique boutique hotels in Oman situated 2,000 metres above sea level on Jabal Al Akhdar, on the Saiq Plateau in the western Hajar Mountains, overlooking a canyon dotted with ancient villages, terraced farms and gardens.
About 2-hours 4W drive from Muscat, Al Jabal Al Akhdar is almost 3000 metres high and is famous for its wide plateau close to the summit.
The mountain produces a variety of fruit, such as apricots, plums, figs, grapes, apples and pears, as well as almonds, walnuts and saffron. The pomegranates grown here are amongst the finest in the world.
Dotted across the mountain are many Omani villages, where villagers have been digging vegetable terraces for centuries.
The 27-room boutique hotel is designed to reflect the mountain location, with modern facilities and plenty of activities at hand.
