Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is a secluded and luxurious three-hotel resort village and spa on dramatic Al Jissah Bay just 15 minutes drive from Muscat.

Shangri-la Al Waha (meaning “Oasis”) is ideal for a family holiday to Oman, as there are plenty of facilities on offer for families including several swimming pools.

Cool Zone Kid’s Club is an indoor-outdoor play area for younger children up to 8 years old.

The Adventure Zone is an exciting family entertainment venue with a variety of play areas featuring Over Under Hurdles, Swing Over Net, drop slides, climbing wall, PS3, computer with Wi-Fi access and soft play areas. The highlights are the three drop-slides providing fun and adventure for all, with the ultimate 6.5-metre Demon Drop slide.

Meander your way between Al Waha, Al Bandar and back again on inflatable tubes along the Lazy River, inspired by the centuries-old falaj system that brought fresh water to remote Omani villages.

Splashpad is an aquatic play area for all the family with a combination of water effects from light mists to touch sensitive sprays and projection jets. 

Located in Al Mazaar Souk, GameZ is a game room where the entire family can play billiards, snooker, air hockey, electronic darts and video games.

In addition to the Play Zones, activities are also on offer for kids, including Treasure Hunt, Henna Painting, and the Sand City Competition.

The ‘Oasis’ in the name is reflected in the design, with the swimming pool forming an oasis, surrounded by dozens of date palm trees.

There is no shortage of dining options at the Shangri La.

At the Al Waha, Samba offers culinary theatre and Latin flavours, whilst Surf Café offer snacks and light meals.

Al Bandar is home to Capri Court, an Italian restaurant. Tapas & Sablah meanwhile offers an outdoor dining experience complete with live entertainment. Al Tanoor features an evocative Arabian atmosphere with open kitchens.

Cool Zone Kid's Club

Located in the Al Waha Hotel in the heart of the resort, Cool Zone provides air-conditioned / indoor and outdoor play areas, both under trained supervision.

Children up to the age of eight years old are welcome to use Cool Zone. Children under the age of four years old should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cool Zone is open from 9am to 6pm.

Adventure Zone

The Adventure Zone is an exciting family entertainment venue for all thrill seekers with a variety of modular play areas featuring Over Under Hurdles, Swing Over Net, drop slides, climbing wall, PS3, computer with Wi-Fi access and soft play areas.

The highlights are the three drop slides providing fun and adventure for all, with the ultimate 6.5-metre Demon Drop slide.

Adventure Zone is located in the Al Mazaar Souk adjacent to the Omani Heritage Village and is open daily from 10am to 10pm.

Children should wear long sleeve shirt and socks.

Children's Pool

The children's pool, open from 6am to 7pm, is located beside the Circles Pool Bar at Al Bandar hotel and next to Assira Pool Bar at Al Waha hotel.

Lazy River

Activities for Children

Located on the headland at the Al Waha hotel, Splashpad is an aquatic play area for all the family with a combination of water effects from light mists to touch sensitive sprays and projection jets.  Splashpad is open daily from 9am to 7pm.

GameZ

Located in Al Mazaar Souk, GameZ is a game room where the entire family can play billiards, snooker, air hockey, electronic darts and video games. GameZ is open daily from 12noon to 10pm.

Mini Golf

Go for another family adventure at the beautifully landscaped miniature golf course with nine challenging holes. Grab one of our special putters with rubber heads and hit a multi-coloured ball. Located in Omani Heritage Village and open daily from 10am to 10pm.

Camel and Pony Ride

Enjoy the sea breeze while riding a camel or pony from Bait Al Bahr to Al Waha. Available daily

Adult-Only Areas  

To protect the safety of small children and provide a relaxed atmosphere for adults, certain areas of the resort, such as the in-hotel bars and CHI, The Spa are reserved for adults only.
