Pyongyang is the capital of the DPRK and the focus of any tour of North Korea.

Pyongyang was entirely destroyed during the Korean War allowing the city to be completely rebuilt from scratch according to the vision of Kim Il Sun.

The result was a grid-pattern city of wide tree-lined boulevards, Stalinist avenues, Monolithic architecture including some fascinating structures such as the Juche Tower, the Arch of Triumph and the pyramid-like Ryugyong Hotel.
