We think this 13-day private tour of Peru is an ideal Peru trip for those looking to see the best of Peru in a varied and unforgettable trip. You'll see cities, the Amazon basin, wildlife, culture and the best of Peru's historic sights.

The itinerary begins in Lima, a lively city full of history, charming neighbourhoods, exciting nightlife and superb food.

After settling into Peru, fly to the Amazon for a magical 3-night stay in a Rainforest Lodge. Here you'll have guided activities including canopy walkways, river trips and nocturnal walks.

From the Amazon fly to Cusco and stay in the former capital of the Inca Empire. Visit the beautiful Sacred Valley on your way to majestic Machu Picchu, one of the highlights of any tour of South America.

Continue to Puno and board a cruise on Lake Titicaca visiting Uros and Taquile Islands.

Head back to Lima for your flight back to the UK or on to another South American destination.
