Classic Zambia Holiday

This three centre Zambia Safari Holiday is one for those looking for a real African wilderness experience, particularly in Kafue National Park, a stunning slice of African bush and far less visited than Zambia's South Luangwa.

You'll spend 6 nights in Kafue, split between two different camps, both with exceptional wildlife and some of the best guides in Zambia.

The second part of your stay in Kafue will be in the Busanga Plains, a vast and remote mosaic of grassy seasonal floodplains that extend to the horizon. When the mist rises off the drying floodplains in winter, incredible sunrises and sunsets can be experienced, and the area teem with wildlife and birds.

From Kafue, fly to the Lower Zambezi for 4 nights and a variety of activities including game drives, walking safaris and canoe trips on the Zambezi.

In the Lower Zambezi you'll have the iconic Zambian Safari Bush Camp experience alongside a great range of safari activities.

Please bear in mind that all of our Zambia Holidays are tailor made and can be adjusted to suit your interests, time, hotel & airline choice and be tailored to fit your budget.

Day 1: Fly UK to Mfuwe

Fly from Heathrow to Lusaka via Dubai with Emirates (or with your preferred airline).

Day 2: Kafue National Park

On arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be met by our representative and assisted with immigration and customs procedures.

You will then transfer by road to Kafue National Park.

You'll be staying at a great little camp. Musekese Camp is set close to the Kafue River in the central part of the Northern sector of the Park.

The camp is perched on the edge of a spectacular lagoon hidden away from the outside world.

The owners, Tyrone McKeith and Phil Jeffery are normally there to greet you and you’ll be treated to an experience you’ll never forget.

Day 3: Kafue National Park

Today wake up early to the sweet smell of the unpolluted African bush and after breakfast venture out into the Park in an open 4x4 safari vehicle for your first taste of what lies ahead.

Musekese camp has made a name for itself with expert guiding, exceptional food and phenomenal wildlife viewing. Explore this game-rich area by vehicle, foot or boat along the emerald green Kafue River.

Day 4: Kafue National Park

Choose your safari activities for the day, whether it's a Game Drive, Boating Safari, Walking Safari or specialist Birding outing.

One of the best aspects of a safari at Musekese is the variety of activities; whether it’s a love of birds, water, big game or just wanting to feel a little closer to the bush, the staff will help you plan your safari around your interests.

There is also a hide on the opposite bank of the river overlooking a flooded dambo area which provides wonderful opportunities for guests keen on photography.

Day 5: Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park

Today you will be driven further north and onto the Busanga Plains where you will be delivered to Wilderness Safaris’ Busanga Bush Camp.

Located in the heart of the Busanga, established on a palm island in the northern part of the Plains you‘ll find this lovely bush-camp.

The camp was originally sited here in the 90’s and has changed relatively little since. There are 4 standard high roofed tents each with unspoilt views of the plains surrounding the camp.

Day 6: Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park

The game is very interesting up here in the northern part of the Kafue, it is one of the very few places where you might spot cheetah in Zambia! The Busanga pride of lions also spend much of their time close to camp.

Day 7: Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park

Enjoy a fabulous day on the Busanga Plains.

Day 8: Lower Zambezi National Park

After breakfast you'll transfer to the Busanga airstrip for your flight to Lusaka.

On arrival in Lusaka, the same representatives who had met you on day 1 will be waiting to help assist you to your scheduled flight to Jeki.

Fly to Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi.

When you land at Jeki Airstrip, you’ll be met by the friendly drivers for Tusk & Mane who will transfer you to camp. It’s now time to go back to basics and experience a truly traditional Zambian bush safari.

Day 9: Lower Zambezi National Park

Choose your safari activities today.

The Lower Zambezi is home to a host of prestigious wildlife including lion, leopard, hyena as well as an abundance of other indigenous species.

The diverse land and water-based safari options here include mesmerizing game drives, tranquil river cruises, exciting fishing expeditions, canoe trips down the Zambezi’s quiet and secluded channels, wilderness walks accompanied by an experienced scout, and spectacular birding excursions.

Game-viewing in this eastern end of the National Park is typically excellent and as with all Lower Zambezi camps your activity options will also include boat cruises and fishing.

We suggest an afternoon river safari.

Day 10: Lower Zambezi National Park

Choose your game activities today.

If you're feeling adventurous, we highly recommend a canoe trip down the Zambezi.

On this exceptional safari, experienced guides will reveal a fresh perspective on African wildlife. From hippo and crocodile to rare birdlife and aquatic creatures, the canoeing safari is an adventure to remember.

Day 11: Lower Zambezi National Park

Choose your safari activities for the day.

Day 12: Fly back to the UK

You will be collected from your lodge and transferred to Jeki Airstrip for your onward flight.

Fly to Lusaka with Proflight Zambia.

Fly from Lusaka to Dubai with Emirates to connect with your flight back to the UK.

Day 13: Arrive UK

Arrive back in UK.
