In July Laos remains firmly under the influence of the Southwest monsoon.

Typical days are hot with temperatures in the mid 20’s in Luang Prabang and high 20’s further south. The air is cleared on most days by a short sudden late afternoon downpour or occasional thunderstorm.

Laos receives far fewer visitors in these months and hotels in Laos have lower prices and better availability.

Travel off the beaten track in Laos at this time of year can be difficult due to impassable roads. Travel to the main destinations is straightforward however and much of the country is looking lush and green in the monsoon rains.
