April is an excellent time to visit Vietnam.
April marks a transitional month in Vietnam as the influence of the Southwest monsoon begins to make its presence felt over much of the country. Humidity is a bit higher and days with afternoon downpours normally increase as the month progresses.
Central Vietnam usually experiences long, sunny and cloudless days at this time of year with relatively little rain.
Springtime in Hanoi can be lovely with mild temperatures and flowers in bloom.
Cruising on Halong Bay is beautiful at any time of year and April is no exception. The weather is normally warm enough at this time of year for comfortable kayaking although early mornings on deck can still be a bit chilly.
Those heading into the mountains north of Hanoi should be prepared for cold conditions at night and in the early mornings.
