April sees the arrival of the Long Rains in Kenya, which normally last through until the end of May.

Temperatures drop soon after the rains are established and you will often have facilities largely to yourself in this more affordable green season.

On the coast, April is the second wettest month.

Bear in mind that when it rains it usually rains in short sharp bursts, often at night or early in the morning.
