March is possibly the best time of year to visit Sri Lanka. Along the west and southern coasts the climate is generally dry with long hot and sunny days.
Rainfall is at its lowest in Kandy and the Hill Country as well as further north in the Cultural Triangle.
Yala National Park should be hot and dry at this time of year.
The north of Sri Lanka and the East coast are experiencing better weather generally come March as the Northeast monsoon loses its grip. Temperatures are also on the up on this side of the country.
