Day 1: Fly UK to Shanghai

Day 2: Shanghai

Visit the Shanghai Museum and the restored Xintiandi area featuring unique 1920′s style Shikumen buildings.

Day 4: Suzhou

Enjoy a full day tour of Suzhou. Visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Master of the Nets Garden, as well as a Silk Mill still in operational use.

Days 5: Hangzhou

Cruise the ancient Grand Canal in Suzhou. Drive to Hangzhou and explore local markets with oriental tea tasting.

Day 6: Hangzhou

Visit the Temple of Inspired Seclusion, Six Harmonies Pagoda and enjoy a cruise on West Lake. Some free time to enjoy a stroll around West Lake.

Day 7: Wuzhen & Shanghai

Visit the ancient picturesque canal town of Wuzhen, which features canals, old wooden waterside houses, arch stone bridges and narrow cobblestone streets.

Visit the Taoist Temple, the former residence of Mao Dun, a master of contemporary Chinese literature.

Days 8: Shanghai

Enjoy a guided walk along the Bund with its famous colonial architecture. Explore the Yu Gardens and the Old Town with an opportunity to shop along Nanjing Road.

Enjoy an evening cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River.

Day 9: Shanghai

Visit the modern Pudong area of Shanghai before flying to Guilin in the afternoon.

Days 10: Guilin & Yangshuo

Cruise the picturesque Li River to Yangshuo, enjoying the surrounding limestone hills, tranquil fishing scenes and traditional villages along the way.

Visit Mount Diecai and enjoy an evening display of traditional cormorant fishing.

Day 12: Kunming & Stone Forest

Visit the colourful stalagmites and stalactites of Reed Flute Cave in Guilin before flying to Kunming, the ‘City of Eternal Spring’.

Sample the famous ‘Across the Bridge Noodles’.

Day 13: Kunming

Explore the picturesque Shilin Stone Forest.

Day 14: Chongqing

Visit the Western Hills and Dianchi Lake before flying to Chongqing, the gateway to the Yangtze River.

Day 15: Chongqing

Visit the small town of Dazu to see the UNESCO World Heritage listed Beishan Frescoes and the Baodin Stone Carvings. Return to Chongqing.

Day 16: Chengdu

Visit Chongqing’s Erlin Park, People’s Hall and the General Stilwell Museum prior to departure for Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province.

Day 17: Chengdu & Leshan

Travel to Leshan, home to the Grand Buddha, the world’s largest stone-carved Buddhist statue. Take a short boat trip to view the statue from the river.

Return to Chengdu, visiting the old town of Huanglongxi en-route.

In the evening sample a local Sichuan meal.

Visit Chengdu’s famous Panda Conservation Centre.

Day 19: Chengdu - Xian

Enjoy a city tour of Chengdu before flying to Xian.

Visit the Little Wild Goose Pagoda on arrival in Xian. Enjoy a traditional evening Shui Jiao dumpling meal followed by a Tang Dynasty dance performance.

Visit the Terracotta Warriors followed by a walk along the Ancient City Wall of Xian.
