Built in 1890 by a wealthy and influential mayor, Posada del Hidalgo is a beautiful colonial mansion in El Fuerte.

The 68 rooms come in three styles. Some have high ceilings with wooden beams and two-story balconies, which are the original bedrooms of the mansion.

The restaurant, named Don Diego´s in honour of El Zorro’s real name, has views onto the garden.

Guests can also choose to eat under the palapa by the hotel's pool.

Local dishes such as langoustines are a specialty and a wide number of international and fusion dishes are available on the menu.

The bar serves a selection of cocktails and beers and is a great place to relax after a busy day exploring the delights of the local area.
