There are countless options for a self catering holiday in the Seychelles, something we think offers superb value for money, for couples or families.

Self-catering in the Seychelles is very affordable indeed and for those who don't require the facilities of a resort it can be a superb option - particularly for those looking to be self-reliant, with the natural social distancing of having your own place.

Of course, depending on the location, having a car on a self-catering Seychelles holiday is a huge advantage (for grocery shopping, exploring, going out to eat).

Driving in the Seychelles is on the left, petrol is cheap and traffic is light, making driving a straightforward proposition.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Seychelles.

Typically for the Seychelles we will use British Airways for direct flights. Please note that flights are currently suspended with British Airways however - during 2021. Previously there were twice-weekly flights from Heathrow (Wednesdays and Saturdays) direct to Mahe using the Dreamliner.

The flying time for direct flights is around 10 hours, making the Seychelles a little shorter flying time than going to South East Asia.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in the Seychelles, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have a preferred hotel, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels in the Seychelles where we think these will be suitable.

Driving in the Seychelles

Driving on Mahe and Praslin is a popular option and gives you the opportunity to explore the islands.

It's an especially important consideration for those on a self-catering holiday to the Seychelles, as having transportation will allow you to go food shopping as well as be able to explore the islands and enjoy local restaurants.

They drive on the left in the Seychelles and all signs are in English, so driving is relatively straightforward.

Roads can be narrow and winding however and you will have to adapt to local driving conditions and to local drivers.

On Mahe there is one main ring road which circles the island. Once you get into the interior the mountain roads become narrower, steeper and a little bit more challenging to drive.
