Bako National Park

Bako National Park is a coastal national park in Sarawak, within easy reach of Kuching.
It's a great place to see proboscis monkeys, macaques, bearded boars and monitor lizards amongst other wildlife.
Getting to Bako involves a car and boat transfer but it's a fairly straightforward trip from Kuching.
It's possible to stay overnight in the park which has the advantage of being able to see wildlife at dawn and dusk but be forewarned, the accommodation is run by the National Park authorities and is basic.
