December is an optimal time for touring Laos and many consider this one of the best months to visit.

In December throughout Laos, the weather can be expected to be dry with long periods of clear skies, with temperatures in the mid 20’s in Luang Prabang and in the high 20’s further south.

Temperatures are a little bit cooler than the pre and early monsoon months of April to June, making a tour of Laos more pleasant during this time of year.

Higher altitudes in the north can experience low temperatures and warm clothing is required for night and early mornings.
