Coco de Mer
Named after the famous double coconut, which grows on the palms that cover the island, Seychelles’ Coco de Mer Hotel is located in the quiet south west coast of Praslin.
The resort consists of just 52 rooms in two separate wings. The Black Parrott Suites are set up on the hillside adjacent to the main hotel and offer great ocean views – some of the best in the Seychelles.
Coco De Mer is right on beautiful Anse Bois de Rose, a tranquil bay and many guests just spend lazy days reading in one of the hammocks strung between the palms or relaxing by one of the hotels two swimming pools.
There are a few activities on offer too, with free non-motorized water sports and a decent range of activities for a boutique Seychelles hotel. The spa offers a good range of treatments and ocean views.
Dining is varied at the hotel and many guests choose to go with the Half Board option. Afternoon tea is always a treat.
The beach here is nice but Coco de Mer also has a free shuttle to nearby Anse Lazio, one of the finest beaches in the Seychelles. Day trips to nearby La Digue and Cousine Islands are popular.
Snorkelling is pretty good on the hotel beach and there are some great snorkelling spots within easy reach.
What’s so Special?
Coco de Mer is a fantastic value for money boutique Seychelles resort.
Enjoy the peaceful mornings and evenings when the gardens attract a variety of birdlife. Walk out on the pier and feed the fish some bread!
Bear in Mind
Coco de Mer is a little bit out by itself and there aren’t any restaurants within walking distance. Car rental is a good option.
Some guests comment on the price of dining. We recommend Half Board as a good value for money option. There is a dress code for dinner (long pants, collared shirt etc).
The gym is a little bit small and out-dated. Don’t expect great Wi-Fi.
Standard Rooms
The 22 chalet-style Standard Rooms are bright and simply furnished with high ceilings, tiled flooring and small annex with sofa.
Modern, open and airy, these rooms are furnished with natural blue and earthy colours and feature an outdoor terrace facing the sea.
Superior Rooms
Superior Rooms feature a bed on a mezzanine area of the room, which also has a bathtub in the corner. A sofa on the low level offers a nice spot for relaxation.

The Black Parrot Bar is a private bar in the Junior Suite wing.

Coco de Mer has breakfast, Half Board and Full Board options.
Many guests choose to go Half-board as the cost of dining at the resort can be a little pricy.
Barbeques are also usually offered weekly.
Swimming Pools
There are two magnificent pools, one in the unique shape of a Coco de Mer, overlook the Indian Ocean and are considered to be amongst the finest on Praslin.
Diving & Excursions
Several scuba diving centres are based on Praslin. Transport can be arranged accordingly. Neighbouring island excursions and deep-sea fishing expeditions are also offered.
Shuttle transfer
Free shuttle transfers to Anse Lazio beach are available to guests several times weekly.
Bicycles
Guests can either stroll or use the hotel's bicycles to access the many private sandy coves that dot this side of the island.
Yacht Charters and Excursions
Coco De Mer offers a 42 foot Catamaran, "Charming Lady" and a 46 foot catamaran "Summer's Day", which operate in association with the hotel.
This offers guests the opportunity of discovering tranquil bays, deserted islands and unspoiled tropical beaches in comfort and style.
Each catamaran has six spacious double en-suite cabins, and comes equipped with all modern facilities as well as a qualified, multilingual skipper and cook.
Overnight as well as scheduled cruises are available.
