Make no mistake, Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the world, which is one of the reasons we love Kesa House, a charming value for money boutique hotel in Singapore's Chinatown.
For those looking for a boutique hotel in Singapore, with some character, in a great location, Kesa House is an excellent option.
We're very fond of Kesa House because of the location and the value for money and the hotel will suit those looking for a bit of charm and a friendly welcome without the price tag.
The Quaint Rooms are spartan and tight on space but for those who will will be out and about in Singapore we think Kesa House is a great option - save on your hotel in Singapore and put the budget towards a nicer resort stay in your onward destination.
What's so Special?
The location is great - there are numerous dining options along the street and great coffee nearby.
Orchard Road and the Marina Bay area are just a short taxi ride away and the MRT is only a short walk down the road.
Bear in Mind
The lead-in rooms (Quant Rooms) are small and windowless. For those with lots of luggage there is barely room to store your bags, so bear this in mind.
A room upgrade or an alternative hotel choice is recommended for those who need more space.

Cosy Room
Evoking the charm of an urban loft with high ceilings, feel right at home in a Cosy Room (13 - 22 sq. m).
Rooms are small and with tiny windows which only let in a little natural light, but they are furnished with the essentials and offer value for money for those for whom space isn't a priority.
Please note that 13 sq. m. is a very small room, so please only choose this if space is not of great importance.
Urban Rooms
Urban rooms (11 sq. m) are characterised by elegant French-style windows with views of the charming and vibrant district of Keong Saik Road and greenery of Duxton Plain Park.
This room category encapsulate the boutique atmosphere of the hotel and reflects the history of one of Singapore’s most important heritage districts.
Due to the conservation guidelines, the windows in the Heritage rooms are sealed.
Bear in mind that the Urban Rooms are also extremely small.
Sky Rooms
Overlooking Duxton Plain Park, Sky Rooms (12 sq. m) will tempt you into relaxing in your very own space with a private al-fresco terrace, much like a secret garden with the scent of the morning glories at dusk.
Even the largest of the Sky Rooms isn't very spacious.
Entertain Rooms
These rooms (22 sq. m) include an outdoor area offering a tranquil spot to sit out and enjoy some outdoor time.
Urban Studio
Relax and Recharge in an Urban Studio. This spacious open-plan room features a fully stocked kitchenette, in-room washer-dryer combo, sofa bed (perfect for an extra person) and your very own walk-in closet.
There’s no better place to settle into Singapore life.
