WaterLovers

WaterLovers is a charming boutique beach resort on Kenya's Diani Beach, just 30 minutes south of Mombassa and known for its white sands and turquoise warm waters.

WaterLovers is a boutique resort with just 8 very spacious Suites, a Penthouse Apartment and a self-contained Villa, all oceanfront and luxury equipped.

WaterLovers offers a sea view restaurant, a beach bar, a wonderful turtle-shaped infinity pool, a Spa, an art boutique and a beach house for water sport activities.

What's so Special?

We think WaterLovers is the perfect location for a beach extension after a safari in Kenya.

Suites

Each of the 8 suites at WaterLovers has a spacious private veranda overlooking the ocean and the style of the interior design is a blend of Swahili culture and Mediterranean style.

Swahili is the culture of Africa’s Indian Ocean coastline, a trader’s culture that blends cultural elements of Africa and Arabia with the East and the West. This cultural fusion is what inspires the Suties at WaterLovers.

Suite Features:

  • Air Con
  • Fan Cooling
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • SIM Card
  • Mosquito net
  • Safe

Villa

WaterLovers has a private villa for rent for families or groups of friends.

The villa comes with a fully equipped kitchen and offers two spacious double bedrooms on the ground floor, both equipped with air conditioning, fan and their own private bathrooms.

On the upper floor gallery, you will find another two King-size beds and a third bathroom complete with shower.

All beds have mosquito nets and the interior design was inspired by the nature surrounding the villa combined with European comfort.

There is a cosy and wonderfully comfy dining area with sofas and pillows and a beautifully carved, wooden dining table with enough room for everyone.

The stairs leading to the gallery are made of driftwood and local precious woods; the floor of the upper level is made out of African cedar planks.

Swahili-style carved beds complete the interior design that was inspired by the spectacular atmosphere only Africa can exude.

The open kitchen is equipped with plenty, including fridge, freezer, gas oven and a storage room.

Housekeeping is included in the rent. For the ultimate luxury meals can be prepared directly at the villa, or you can choose to eat in beach restaurant. Towels and bed sheets are included, a laundry service can also be provided at request.

There is a shopping centre on the other side of the beach road with a large supermarket, bars, ice cafés, restaurants, a pharmacy, a bank and various kinds of other facilities along with a health shop specialised in biological and natural products.

Which Airlines do you use for your Kenya Holidays?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Kenya.

Typically for Kenya we will use Kenya Airways or British Airways for direct flights.

There are currently daily flights from Heathrow to Nairobi, departing in the morning and arriving the same day late in the evening.

The Kenya Airways flights are also direct but offer an overnight option meaning you'll arrive in the morning in time to connect with a safari flight.

The flying time for direct flights is about 8.5 hours.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

What about Safari Flights in Kenya?

Safari flights in Kenya operate from Nairobi Wilson Airport.

We usually use Safari Airlink who are Kenya's premier safari flight operator, flying to most safari destinations as well as Zanzibar, using Dash 8 and Cessna Caravan aircraft.

The Cessna's are the workhorses of safari flights and have large windows and overhead wings, meaning better views on your flight.

Luggage should be kept to a minimum on safari flights.

For safari flights in Kenya, the limit is typically 15 kg per person. This should be in soft bags as opposed to hard suit cases in order to fit in the baggage compartment on small aircraft.

Do I need a visa for Kenya?

If you're travelling on British Passports, a visa is required for stays of up to a month.

These can be obtained on arrival but to avoid queuing at the airport on arrival it's better to organise these in advance.

Please always check visa requirements as they can change at any time.

When is the best time to visit Kenya?

January to March is usually hot and dry and great for wildlife viewing. Conditions can often be dry and dusty at this time of year and animals often congregate near water-holes, meaning excellent wildlife viewing.

April to May can be wet and muddy and this is the period of the 'long rains'. Many safari camps close during May when the long rains are at their height, as the tracks and roads get muddy and it may not be possible for the camp vehicles to take visitors on game drives.

June is usually green and lush after the rain. Many animals have their young at this time of year, to coincide with the better grazing from new grass following the rains.

July to August is cooler and good for the migration in the Masai Mara. July to September is when the great wildebeest migration moves into the Masai Mara. July to September is a busy time for safaris in Kenya.

September to October offers good weather and wildlife viewing in Kenya.

November and December sees the advent of the so-called 'short rains'.

Bear in mind that weather patterns vary and when rainfall in Kenya occurs, it often happens at night or early in the morning.

Ensure you bring some additional warm clothing for chilly early morning or evening game drives in Kenya.

Although Kenya is on the equator, you may be surprised at how cold it can get at night and in the early morning, especially in the higher locations!
