The Southern Kalahari is the arid region of southern Namibia which borders South Africa's Karoo and the Kalahari Desert to the east. This is a vast landscape with towns spread far apart.
The main attractions include the stunning but little visited Fish River Canyon and the vast fossil desert of the Kalahari itself.
The Kalahari itself stands in contrast to the Namib as it is much greener with a greater abundance of flora and fauna.
