Chitwan National Park is Nepal's premier wildlife destination and offers the best chance in Nepal to see rhino and if you are very lucky indeed, a tiger.
Chitwan protects over 900 sq. km of forest, grass and marshland, which is home to one-horned rhino, deer, sloth bears, wild elephants, leopards and over 500 species of birds.
Chitwan is estimated to be home to over 500 one-horned rhino and about 120 tigers.
There are some excellent lodges in Chitwan National Park, all located on the edge of the park since the government banned the operation of lodges in Chitwan National Park itself.
Barahi Jungle Lodge in Chitwan National Park is a highly recommended wildlife lodge in Chitwan.
