January sees the rainy season on the coast, which means warm temperatures, sunny mornings and late afternoon rain showers. January is one of the bests times of year to visit Ecuador.

It rains all year round in the Amazon Oriente, but rain showers are stronger from late December through April.

Quito and the highlands feature more stable temperatures although it can get a bit cooler during the dry season (June through September). Temperatures will be determined by altitude.

In the Galapagos you can expect few showers from October through May but they do not last very long. The sea is warmer and there are sunnier days.
