Cusco’s boutique hotel El Mercado Tunqui enjoys a central location in the heart of historic Cusco.
El Mercado Tunqui is just three blocks from the main square meaning everything is really close at hand for exploring Cusco.
The hotel incorporates part of Cusco’s old farmers market and mixes colonial architecture and modern minimalist décor.
The 32 rooms at El Mercado are lovely, and the Junior Suites have special touches such as fireplaces and stand-alone bathtubs. Family rooms accommodate up to four people.
La Taverna Bar whips up some excellent Peruvian dishes whilst Bodega Coffee Lounge makes a very nice local brew (just remember the altitude before ordering a second one).
