Galapagos Safari Camp is an eco-luxury tented-camp in the Galapagos and offers a superb land based alternative to or addition to a Galapagos cruise.

Just 15 minutes from Baltra Airport on Santa Cruz, the location on a highland ridge is superb, not only for the views, but also for the proximity to a Tortoise Reserve and the boundary of the Galapagos National Park.

Nine luxury tents comprise the accommodation at Galapagos Safari Camp, each tent set on a raised wooden platform to offer even better ocean views from the private balconies, fitted with hammock and seating.

Tent interiors (27 sq. m) are minimalist, with wooden floors and locally made furniture. Bathrooms have showers, flush-toilets and rock wash basins.

The camp offers an infinity pool and activities include hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, diving trips and various other day excursions.

Dining at Galapagos Safari Camp is normally communal although guests can choose to dine privately on a terrace.

The camp’s architecture is designed to blend in with the natural surroundings and is underpinned by a discreet luxury that is unpretentious and familiar – it’s a warm and homely kind of luxury.

Kids are more than welcomed here, and in fact this is one of the best Galapagos family holiday options.

The owners are a Danish couple, Michael and Stephanie Mesdag, who stumbled on the property while visiting the islands.

They gave up life in Europe to build a dream conceived while up a tree admiring the mesmerizing views where the lodge now sits.
