Hotel Granvia is an integral part of the JR Kyoto Station Building, the visually striking architectural masterpiece, which also includes a department store, museum, musical theater, and a vast underground shopping mall.
Hotel Granvia is a large hotel (535 rooms) but is very elegantly designed and is certainly one of the best hotels in Kyoto.
Facilities at the Granvia include 12 restaurants & bars, an indoor swimming pool and a great gym.
Rooms are spacious and elegant and have nice touches such as art and photographs adorning the walls, and eco-friendly Hahonico toiletries.
Deluxe Rooms offer access to a Club Lounge.
What’s so Special?
Hotels in Railway Stations might not always push the right buttons, but Kyoto Station is an absolute marvel and the convenience for those travelling by rail can’t be stressed too highly.
Hotel Granvia Kyoto is home to over 1000 stunning pieces of museum-quality art that blend ‘Modernity with Tradition’. The result is a stimulating environment – both in the public areas and in guest rooms.

The Granvia isn’t in any way a boutique hotel (there are over 500 rooms) but we love it for its stylish rooms and great location.

Standard Rooms are 30 sq. m in size, with top quality beds, a basic-module bathroom, a writing desk, and two armchairs.
The design is elegant and modern.
Superior Rooms (34 sq. m) offer a little more space, with separate showers and baths and views over the city.
Deluxe Rooms are on the 14th and 15th floors and offer access to a private lounge (the Granvia Lounge). The Granvia Lounge is open from 7 am until 8 pm.
