Manatei Hakone
Manatei Hakone is a hybrid Ryokan-hotel located in a stunning natural setting just 10-minutes on foot from Kowakaduni Station.
The Ryokan has a great location and an arty ambience.
In the lobby are several famous Arita Ceramics, works from Inoue Manji, a 'living national treasure' in Japan.
There are a variety of room options including Japanese and more Western style. Some rooms feature mountain views and private Onsen on the balcony.
All rooms are en-suite and feature sitting areas, free Wi-Fi and LCD TV's
The Manatei has a shared Onsen which is free for all guests to use and is open from 3 pm until midnight.
There is also a spa offering massages.
Japanese meals are served in the dining room for breakfast and dinner.
Traditional sosaku kaiseki multi-course dinner features organic ingredients.
What's so Special?
The variety of rooms at Hakone Manatee offer a lot of flexibility for those who don't necessarily want the full Ryokan experience.
Some rooms have tatami mats and futons, some have low level beds.
Bear in mind
There's a free shuttle to Kowakudani Station and a bus stop (Jakotsuno) right outside the hotel.
From Hakone-Yumoto Station it's 30-minutes by train on the Hakone Tozan Tetudou to Kowakudani.
A bus from Odawara Station to Jakotsuno takes around 30 minutes.
