A close encounter with Mother Nature on Colombia’s north coast - a green and tropical paradise in the lone beaches of Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.
Merecumbe Hotel is a boutique eco-resort in a lush setting in the foothills of Santa Marta’s Sierra Nevada on a remote Caribbean beach close to the Tayrona National Park.
Just 11 cabanas are set amongst verdant exotic vegetation in a location which offers the chance to appreciate Colombia's ancient culture and landscape.
Cabanas are very comfortable, minimalist wooden structures with palm roofs and living rooms, uniquely designed with surprisingly luxurious, intimate interiors that lead to private decks and hammocks.
Regional cuisine and Colombian-Caribbean coast flavours are on offer in the restaurant where vegetarian options, fresh fish, natural juices and just-picked veggies are as healthy as they are tasty.

The aim here is to experience nature: an isolated beach and lush Rainforest where squirrels, otters, cats, tortoises and tropical birds roam free.

Bear in mind
There is no air-con, hot water or TV’s here, in keeping with the eco-ethos of the hotel – although there is Wi-Fi in all of the cabanas.
The location in Buritaca is a few kilometres from Tayrona National Park and 50 kilometres from Santa Marta – about an hour by car.
