Day 1: Fly UK to Quito
On arrival in Quito you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight Quito.
Day 2: Quito Old Town & Equatorial Line
After breakfast explore Quito's old colonial centre and the Equatorial Monument.
Situated in a circle of Andean peaks, Quito is the world’s second highest capital.
The colonial centre - declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978 - is one of the largest and best preserved in Latin America.
The tour starts at the quirky Guapulo quarter and finishes at the “Panecillo” hillside.
Enjoy the breath-taking views of the old and modern city surrounded by the rolling Andes Mountains.
As an addition to the Quito Colonial City Tour, visit the “Equatorial line” complex.
This monument is located right on the Equator and provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to straddle both hemispheres.

Day 3: Otavalo Market
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel after breakfast for the drive north to Otavalo (about 2 hours).
On your way to Otavalo stop at beautiful San Pablo Lake.
In Otavalo visit the main square and the Plaza de Ponchos, home to Otavalo’s famous market.
The market is a fantastic place to observe the culture and colourful dress of the Otavalo people.
Products such as wall hangings, wool sweaters, scarfs, leather goods and wood carvings are all produced in the area.
Transfer back to your hotel in Quito in the evening.

Day 4: Cotopaxi National Park & Baños
After breakfast, prepare for an exciting day travelling across the famous “Avenue of the Volcanoes”.
Located 37 miles from Quito, the Cotopaxi National Park and the Cotopaxi Volcano are some of the most important landmarks in Ecuador.
Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano in the world and with luck the skies will be clear for some great views of the mountain.
Visit Limpiopungo Lake near the Rumiñahui Volcano where hiking and bird-watching are popular activities.
After lunch, head to Baños, located in the foothills of Tungurahua Volcano and famous for its hot springs.
Also visit the fascinating indigenous Salasaca Community to learn about local culture.

Day 5: Riobamba
After breakfast depart towards the city of Riobamba.
On the way to Guaranda, pass through Amabato and Chimborazo’s National Park and visit “El Arenal” to see local vicuñas (South American Llamas).
Overnight at the Abraspungo Hotel or similar with breakfast and all activities included.
Day 6: Alausí - Devil’s Nose Rail Tour - Cuenca
After breakfast depart towards Alausí, visiting Balbanera Church, Colta Lake and the indigenous town of Guamote (the famous Guamote Market takes place every Thursday).
Once in Alausí, board the Nariz del Diablo (Devil's nose) train, which offers spectacular views of the Ecuadorian landscape.
On clear days you will be lucky enough to see Chimborazo in its full glory.
After the train ride, visit Ingapirca, home to the most important architectural legacy of the Incas in Ecuador.
After the tour of Ingapirca head to the historical city of Cuenca, the cultural capital of Ecuador.

Day 7: Cuenca
After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Cuenca, Ecuador's third largest city.
Cuenca's red tiled roofs, cobblestone streets, flowery plazas and museums make it a very special place in the heartsb of Ecuadorians and the city is considered by many the most beautiful in Ecuador.
In the afternoon, visit a workshop where Panama straw hats are made before driving up to the hill of Turi to admire Cuenca from above.

Day 8: Cajas National Park & Guayaquil
After breakfast, head northwest for a short way towards Cajas National Park.
Various activities such as hiking, fishing, bird-watching and viewing the flora and fauna are on offer here.
In the afternoon head to Guayaquil, passing through mountain scenery and a delightful change of vegetation.

Day 9: Guayaquil
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour around the city’s most important landmarks including the Seminario Park, the Southern Malecón 2000 and the Cerro Santa Ana.
Overnight Guayaquil. Breakfast included.
Day 10: Fly to UK
After breakfast, you will be met by your guide and transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
Day 11: Arrive UK
Arrive back in the UK.
