Chiang Mai is Thailand's second biggest city and a great starting point for touring the north of Thailand.
Highlights of a stay in Chiang Mai include Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar and beautiful Wat Doi Suthep Temple.
Chiang Mai is a great base for touring the hilltribe region of Thailand and for soft adventure activities such as trekking and elephant riding in the north of Thailand.
There are some wonderful boutique hotels in Chiang Mai where it is easy to linger for lazy days on end.
We recommend at least a 2 night stay in Chiang Mai to experience Thailand's second city but 3 nights will give you a more relaxing experience.

Day 1: Arrival Chiang Mai
Arrive Chiang Mai and transfer to your hotel by private car.
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax or explore independently.

Day 2: Chiang Mai
Enjoy a Half Day tour of Chiang Mai.
Drive through the city, passing markets, residential areas and Chiang Mai's main street.
Visit the famous hillside Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra Sing, Wat Suan Dok and Wat Chedi Luang.
Overnight Chiang Mai. Breakfast included.
Day 3: Chiang Mai Depart
Transfer to the airport by private car for your onward flight.

Day 2: Chiang Mai
You will be collected from your hotel for an early morning visit to a local market where you offer alms to the Buddhist monks. You might find local foods at the market to buy and taste for your own breakfast.
Afterward, visit Wat U-Mong (Tunnel Temple) before returning to your hotel around 11 am.
Have lunch and some time on your own before being collected from your hotel around 3 pm for your afternoon excursion.
With perfect timing, this tour shows you Chiang Mai’s spiritual side while avoiding the tourist crowds.
Visit the city’s most unique and historic temples before traveling up to the mountain top temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep.
Arriving long after the tour buses have departed, you will receive a blessing from resident monks, watch the monks evening chants and enjoy breathtaking views of the city at dusk.
On our signature city and temples tour, you will first explore ancient Chiang Mai, including its old city walls, gates, moat and markets.
After visiting Wat Suan Dok, where the ashes of Chiang Mai’s royal family are interred, continue to Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the temple on the mountain, and the most sacred in Northern Thailand.
Your experienced guide will explain the story of the temple, the white elephant and lead you around its impressive chedi and show you it’s beautiful murals.
In the late afternoon, the tourist masses have already left the temple grounds and dusk is a very special atmosphere.
After your private blessing ceremony, witness the magical evening chanting of the monks and city lights looking back over Chiangmai.
This day tour starts at around 3 pm, finishing around 7.
Visitors must dress appropriately with shoulders and knees covered.

Which Airlines do you use?
We work with all the major airlines flying to Thailand.
Typically for Thailand, Thai Airways, EVA Air, British Airways or Singapore Airlines would be airlines we most often use as well as Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways.
However, just let us know your preferred airline if you have one. We can organise flights from any regional destination in the UK.
Thai Airways, EVA Air and British Airways fly directly to Bangkok.

We're careful with our choice of hotels, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.
We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels where we think these will be suitable.
We keep on top of hotel developments in Chiang Mai from our office in Vietnam and regularly inspect the hotels we use.
Chiang Mai has a great choice of luxury and boutique hotels which are often excellent value for money.
