Easter Island Extension
Far out in the Pacific, Rapa Nui, also known as Easter Island or Isla de Pascua preserves the mythical Rapa Nui culture.
This fascinating Polynesian island, one of the most remote inhabited islands of the world, is located 2,180 miles from Chile’s west coast.
The Rapa Nui National Park occupies almost half of the island and was declared a heritage site to protect the great natural landscape and cultural richness.
There are routes that cannot be missed, such as the ascent of the Rano Raraku Volcano, where the moai were sculpted.
These mysterious sculptures made of stone are known throughout the world.
There are over 600 pieces distributed throughout the island and most of them were sculpted on the quarries of the Rano Raraku Volcano.

Day 1: Santiago - Easter Island
Morning transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Easter Island.
Upon arrival at Easter Island or Rapa Nui, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Visit the ceremonial site of Tahai with 3 Ahus and restored statues, remains of boathouses, a boat ramp and other features.
Here you will see the only statue with eyes re-inserted. In the nearby museum you will get an insight into the geology, geography and the history of Rapa Nui and its people.
At the end of the tour you will stop at the village of Hanga Roa to visit the church and the artisan market.
Overnight Easter Island. Breakfast included.
Day 2: Easter Island
You will drive southeast along the coastal road, with views of Poike and the whole coastline of black volcanic rock.
The first stop is Vaihu where you will have a look at the red-stone topknots of this Ahu (altar), here Moais lay face-down on the ground.
On the way to your next site Ranu Raraku, you will pass several Moais lying on the side of the road.
The Ranu Raraku volcano was the quarry where all the Moais were sculpted.
There are still hundreds of Moais at different finishing stages.
Your next stop is at Ahu Tongariki where you will be impressed by this giant Ahu and the 15 Moais on it.
Next, visit Anakena, a big white sandy beach with a small palm grove.
Overnight Easter Island. Breakfast and box lunch included.
Day 3: Easter Island
Today you will head to the lookout point at Rano Kao volcano, whose deep crater of lush vegetation contains a large fresh water lake covered with totora.
You will continue onto the ceremonial village of Orongo, where many high-relief carvings of frigate bird-heated men are on the rocky outcrops.
Here the competitions of the 'birdmen' were held at the summer solstice.
Next, you will visit Ahu Vinapu, where the interesting architectural style reminds you of the Inca´s masonry.
Overnight Easter Island. Breakfast included.
Day 4: Easter Island
Morning at leisure. Transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Santiago.
