Begin in Seoul, South Korea's buzzing capital city and explore its compelling mix of modern and ancient. There is much about Seoul which may surprise you.

Fly down to Jeju Island in the far south. Jeju is wonderfully scenic and a great place to discover some scenic highlights.

From Jeju Island head to the port city of Busan with its lively seafood market and downtown area.

From here delve into Korean history and culture in Gyeongju and Andong before heading back to Seoul for the final night of the trip.

Day 1: UK – Seoul

Fly from the UK to Seoul

Day 2: Seoul

On arrival in Seoul you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel.

The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Overnight Seoul.

Day 3: Seoul

After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of Seoul, including the National Museum, Gyongbok Palace and Seoul Tower on Mt. Namsan for a view of the city.

Overnight Seoul.

Day 4: Seoul – Jeju Island

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Jeju Island where you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel.

Today enjoy and private tour of Jeju Island. Visit the coast to see the volcanic formations at Jusangjeolli, Sanbang Cave Temple or Yongduam, Gumnung rock cave, pot-planting art site.

Day 5: Jeju Island

Today make a visit to Manjang Cave one of the finest lava tunnels in the world and a designated World Heritage site. Up to 23 metres wide, 30 metres high and over 13 km long, Manjang Cave is one of the most spectacular sights on Jeju Island.

Afterwards visit Sangumburi volcanic crater, one of the most scenic locations on Jeju.

Finally today visit Seongeup Folk Village at the foot of Halla Mountain. The village is a repository of residential houses, Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices, stone statues, large millstones (pulled by horses or ox), fortress ruins, and stone monuments providing a glimpse into ancient Korea.

Day 6: Busan

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Busan where you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel.

Visit Jagalchi Seafood Market which is a great place for people watching and photography.

Afterwards visit Taejongdae with its rocky outcrop, pine forests and ocean views.

Overnight Busan.

Day 7: Gyeongju

Today travel by vehicle from Busan and enjoy a full day excursion around Gyeongju.

The capital of the Shilla Kingdom for almost a thousand years, Gyeongju is a significant and fascinating heritage site.

Visit Cheomseongdae, Seokguram Grotto, Bulguksa Temple & the Gyeongju National Museum.

Overnight Gyeongju.

Day 8: Andong

Today transfer to Andong, one of the last living vestiges of old Korea, a treasure cradle of Confucian tradition and the birthplace of Hahoe masks, Chajeon games and Hahoe spirit rituals.

Visit Hahoe village, Gyeongpodae and Ojukhun before continuing on to your overnight stay in Gangnung.

Day 9: Seoraksan – Seoul

Drive up the east coast of South Korea to the small coastal city of Sokcho, gateway to the beautiful Seoraksan National Park.

Enjoy a tour of the park before heading on to Seoul later in the day.

Day 10: Seoul

Today enjoy a visit to the Korean Folk Village at Yongin which provides a living representation of Korean culture.

Should you prefer, this day can be replaced with a visit to the DMZ and the border with the North

Overnight Seoul.

Day 11: Seoul – UK

Today you will be transferred for your flight back to the UK or to your onward destination.

Day 12: UK

Arrive back in the UK
