Discover Bagan

Bagan is a Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the most compelling sights in Asia - there's really nowhere else in Asia, or the world, quite like it.
Over 3,000 stupas and pagodas are scattered across the plain by the Irrawaddy River which makes for an amazing panorama, especially in the early morning, or even better, at sunset.
Bagan is a former capital of Burma, before it was destroyed during invasions by the Thais but what remains is truly magnificent.
Our touring in Bagan is designed of course to cover the main sights such as the Ananda Temple and Shwezigon Pagoda, but we also try to encourage getting beyond the temples a little bit, as it's often the encounters with local people in Bagan which can be the most memorable features of a trip.
If there is one hotel in Bagan I like to recommend, it's the Hotel at Tharabar Gate as it has a touch of elegance about it and a very relaxing ambience - within walking distance of the temples.
