Inle Lake Panorama

Inle Lake is one of the most beautiful destinations in Burma and we include it in almost all of the tours of Burma we put together.
When I first went to Inle Lake it was the early 90's and there were hardly any visitors at all. It's still not exactly over-run and a sense of tranquility still remains and being out on the water in the early morning is a magical experience.
It's the perfect place to relax for a few days after visiting Yangon, Bagan and Mandalay but it's also somewhere that offers a range of activities such as some great trekking and cycling trips.
Inle is also a great place to discover some of the crafts and local culture of the Shan State as well as seeing life on the lake, with the unique rowing techniques of the local fishermen.
There is a very nice choice of boutique hotels at Inle Lake, many of which have views over the Lake. Inle Princess is one we really love - it's got a lovely local feel and great location on the north side of the lake.
