The House Collective

We always try to seek out the most extraordinary, vibrant, quirky, fascinating, unique and alluring hotels wherever we send our customers to. We believe it should be part of the journey, part of the experience - even a chance to glimpse into the designers soul. A hotel should be a place to delight, not just somewhere to lay your head for the night.
The House Collective ticks all of our boxes and with the opening of the 4th hotel in the collection in Shanghai imminent we thought it might be a nice excuse to give a shout out to this collection of wonderful luxury boutique hotels in China.
Opposite House, Beijing
Located in the arty Sanlitun District of Beijing, The Opposite House, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma is like no other luxury hotel in Beijing, a city where hotels with character are few and far between.
At the Opposite House a striking emerald glass exterior houses a hotel where contemporary design and ancient traditions fuse in a hotel which conveys calm sophistication and a subtle vibrancy.
The Japanese influence is felt throughout, with an emphasis on simplicity, clean lines and subtle artistry.
Temple House, Chengdu
Chengdu has no shortage of luxury hotels, but none which combines the same character, heritage, sense of style and personality alongside a devotion to service which Temple House Chengdu does.
The location in a historic area of Chengdu near to Daci Temple adds to the sense of place which is captured in the design based around a traditional Qing Dynasty courtyard.
It's the sense of delight at Chengdu's Temple House which also grabs us, from the artistic plating of dishes to the colourful touches in a hotel which more often than not is hosting an art exhibition.
Upper House, Hong Kong
Hong Kong's Upper House on Hong Kong Island is a high rise hotel offering offering magnificent views from the rooms and from one of the coolest hang-outs in Hong Kong, Cafe Grey Bar.
As with the other House Collective hotels, the emphasis is on a design which reflects a calm assurance - warm, personal and understated sophisticated.
Designer Andre Fu's masterpiece of interior design is sensuous yet functional and it's little wonder that the Upper House was received with such acclaim.
Middle House, Shanghai
Opening in early 2018, Middle House will be the 4th House Collective hotel in China and promises to continue the theme of intimate luxury and understated design.
With 111 rooms in a central location near fashionable Nanjing Road West, Middle House will feature a choice of restaurants and a luxury spa.
With Italian designers Lissoni behind the project, the emphasis at Middle House is on sleak interiors and Chinese craftsmanship with some of the most elegantly designed hotel rooms in Shanghai.
