Cambodia has the mighty Mekong River, the virtually untouched Cardamom Mountains in the West (one of the few places in the world where primary rainforest reaches the sea), miles of unspoilt coastline and lush jungle across much of the interior – ideal for trekking or other adventure activities.
Wildlife enthusiasts will be keen to go Gibbon spotting in Rattanakiri, Irrawaddy Dolphin watching near Kratie and bird watching in the Prek Toal Park near Tonle Sap Lake in the north.
Spending a morning helping out at a rescued bear sanctuary will also appeal to those looking for a more hands on experience.
