Outside of the three main destinations of Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, much of Cambodia remains a mystery for most visitors.

Many places in Cambodia are off the beaten track for most visitors although there is a well-trodden backpacker’s route through Cambodia, but facilities can be basic.

For most visitors, the Northeastern province of Kratie remains undiscovered and the same can be said of the West of Cambodia in the Cardamom Mountains and the town of Battambang.

Getting off the main route of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh will certainly reward visitors on a tour of Cambodia. The beachside town of Kep also remains blissfully undeveloped.
