Maison Souvannaphoum is a heritage style hotel in Luang Prabang, the former residence of Prince Souvannaphouma in the 1960’s and 70’s, converted into a stylish boutique hotel.
Located in the centre of Luang Prabang, within walking distance of sights, this boutique hotel has just 19 rooms and 3 suites and is one of the finest places to stay in Laos with a peaceful, rather spiritual atmosphere.
There are two parts to the hotel, ‘La Residence’, which is the former royal residence offering 3 suites and 1 twin room, and the new Garden Wing which contains 18 rooms.
Maison Souvannaphoum has an Angsana Spa, which is ideal after a long day on foot exploring Luang Prabang.
What’s so Special?
There aren’t too many places in the world where you can stay in a former royal residence. This is one of Laos’ finest hotels and the spa is a real bonus.
The location just 5-10 minutes level walk from the centre of town is excellent.
The gardens are beautiful, very peaceful and often full of butterflies.
Bear in mind
The pool is fairly small, but fine for the size of hotel and is rarely, if at all crowded.
Garden Wing Rooms
Garden Wing rooms are quite trendy whilst retaining a historic feel. All rooms have balconies, which overlook the pool or greenery. Rooms offer king size or twin beds and there is one inter-connecting room, ideal for families.
Rooms on the second floor have a spacious veranda.

Elephant Blanc
