Dos Palmas Resort
Dos Palmas Island Resort is a charming 90-room resort in the Philippines, overlooking Honda Bay, close to Palawan’s Capital City Puerto Princesa.
Dos Palmas is perfect for those looking for white sand beaches, good snorkelling diving and some facilities including diving, a spa and tennis.
Set amongst 20 hectares of land, the resort overlooks a white sandy bay and clear turquoise waters.
Guests are met on arrival at Puerto Princesa for the one hour and fifteen minute transfer to the resort.
Dos Palmas of course means ‘Two Palms’ and the resort is named after two massive palms trees which once stood here.
The island itself is blessed with a rich marine ecosystem, with mangrove forest and kilometers of beautiful coral reefs, home to more than 300 species of fish, corals, mollusks and crustaceans.
What’s so Special?
Dos Palmas is very well suited for snorkellers and recreational divers as there are plenty of facilities at the Marine Sports Centre.
A short walk into the mangrove forest leads to a hut on stilts where you can get close to the ocean – ideal for spotting the island's diverse mix of resident and migratory birds – ‘twitchers’ will not be disappointed.
95 species of bird are known on the island, which is also a nesting site and feeding ground for three species of sea turtles.
