Nestled in a lush valley a short distance from the town of Mae Hong Son, in the mountains of Northern Thailand, Fern Resort is a simple, eco-focused rustic hideaway in a peaceful jungle setting.

30 comfortable and tastefully decorated wooden bungalows are built in the local Shan Style, set amongst the jungle and resort rice paddies.

The hotel is set amongst rice fields and surrounded by jungle - a genuine 'back to nature' escape.

The hotel has a small swimming pool and an al-fresco restaurant and bar.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt enjoyed more than one stay here.

We love the sound of birdsong and running water babbling along little channels throughout the grounds, with the occaisional 'clack' of a bamboo water feature.

Bear in Mind

The resort is quite simple and not 'luxurious' unless you include the luxury of the charming setting.

Deluxe Bungalows

Spacious and tastefully furnished, Deluxe Bungalows are set in front of the jungle, facing the resort rice paddies.

Designed in bamboo and teak, Deluxe Bungalows feature a dressing table, chairs and a small table in the bedroom.

A private terrace faces the rice fields and the location offers an 'away from it all' feeling.

Suite Bungalows

For those looking for a hideaway in the middle of nature the Suite Bungalows are the perfect choice.

Built along the rice fields, a private balcony faces the small creek behind.

Suites have both fan and air-conditioning. The teak floors and big windows are nice features.
