Little Makalolo is a Classic Wilderness Safari Camp in the heart of Hwange National Park, in one of its best game viewing areas, overlooking a lively waterhole.

Little Makololo is perfect for those looking for a boutique safari camp in Hwange and for a real sense of remoteness.

The camp's six traditional-style tents – including a family unit – are spacious and en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers. Linking the tents to the main area are teak walkways.

Here a false mopane tree in the centre of the camp shades a separate dining and living area, with an open fire area for those convivial evening fireside tales.

A swimming pool is the perfect antidote for the midday sun and for a break between game drives.

As Little Makalolo is in a private concession in Hwange, evening drives with spotlights are permitted in addition to morning and early evening drives and walking safaris.

What’s so Special?

In front of the camp, a log-pile hide overlooks the waterhole, which is a magnet for wildlife great and small, especially in winter.

Impressive herds of buffalo and elephant are amongst the highlights of game viewing in Hwange National Park.

Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest and most popular national park. Little Makalolo is in a private concession, which means that sightings of the prolific wildlife are exclusive and private as other vehicles are not allowed into the private concession.
