Madi a Thavha, meaning “water from the mountains”, is set in a beautiful and quiet valley of the Soutpansberg Mountains of Northern Limpopo, only 10 km drive from the centre of Louis Trichardt (Makhado).

Madi a Thavha offers stylish and bright accommodation, excellent dining and warm hospitality.

The original farmhouse, where general lodge facilities are situated, has two luxurious rooms withmountain views and verandas with nice garden furniture. Nearby, the Luvhuvu room offers twin beds close to the farmhouse.

In addition, three guesthouses all offer fully equipped kitchens and terraces with mountain views. The Limpopo House can accommodate up to 4 people.

What’s so Special?

The lodge is an excellent base to spend a few days to explore the Venda and Tsonga culture, myths and legends and to discover unspoiled nature of the Soutpansberg and Limpopo Valley.

Madi a Thavha is very supportive of local Venda and Tsonga artists, is a haven for numerous bird species and offers some excellent walking routes.

Bear in Mind

Madi a Thavha is a nice stopover when travelling to the Kruger National Park, Mapungubwe, the bush camps at Tuli Block in Botswana or the Victoria falls in Zimbabwe.
