COMO Metropolitan Bangkok
COMO Metropolitan Bangkok
The sleek and trendy Metropolitan Bangkok offers vibrancy, freshness and contemporary cool with calming, Zen-like minimalist rooms – an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.
The Sathorn Road location opposite Dusit Park means the MTR (underground) is just a 5-minute stroll away, offering easy access to most of the sights in Bangkok.
The 171-room Metropolitan Bangkok is part of Como Hotels, who operate a small number of luxury boutique hotels and luxury Como Shambhala spas.
The Metropolitan has a large outdoor swimming pool, a fantastic spa and one of the coolest lounge bars in Bangkok.
Rooms at the Metropolitan Bangkok are minimally furnished and offer calming, contemporary spaces.
With Nahm Restaurant operated by world-renowned chef David Thompson, the Metropolitan Hotel offers truly world class dining.
The Metropolitan Bangkok has a great guests-only bar but if you don't want to go there every night, the Banyan Tree Bangkok Hotel is right next-door (where they have a spectacular rooftop bar with amazing views of the city).
Metropolitan Rooms are very spacious indeed – over 50 sq. m. – so the Metropolitan Rooms are a great choice for those looking for extra space.
What’s so Special?
We love the healthy a-la-carte menu at Glow, especially for breakfast – it’s such a refreshing change from most hotel buffet breakfasts (there are less health-conscious options too of course!).
Nahm is one of Bangkok’s top Thai dining venues – the product of Australian expert Thai chef David Thompson.
Bear in Mind
Some people find the rooms a little bit bland. Bear in mind that they are contemporary in character, with subtle references to Thai design.
With 171 rooms, the Met isn’t strictly a boutique hotel – it’s a larger hotel with a boutique soul.
City Rooms
These comfortable, airy rooms (26 sq. m.) with lots of natural light, muted colours and Makha wood, perfectly reflect the Metropolitan’s clean-lined minimalist style.
L-shaped teak benches flank queen-size beds, which feature goose-down duvets and 500-thread-count Egyptian cotton linen.
Large gorgeous bathrooms have combined showers and bathtubs.
Studio Rooms
These light-filled, king-bedded rooms offer generous desk space and a comfortable sitting area loaded with Thai silk cushions.
The rooms are very large indeed for a luxury Bangkok boutique hotel.
The limestone and mosaic-tiled bathrooms have separate tubs and showers.
Metropolitan Rooms
These are amongst the largest king or twin-bedded rooms in Bangkok (51 – 54 sq. m.).
Furnishings include a Ming-style teak chair.
Large limestone bathrooms have separate showers and bathtubs.
Terrace Rooms
Terrace Rooms (80 sq. m.) are huge, with a landscaped private patio replete with a refreshing outdoor shower—a true rarity in a Bangkok city centre hotel.
Terraces are enclosed and don’t offer any views – they’re really semi-outdoor bathrooms.

Glow
For light, healthy dining, the Metropolitan Bangkok's Glow, located adjacent to the COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, offers a menu based on the COMO Shambhala wellness cuisine.

Met Bar
Bangkok’s Met Bar, reserved for hotel guests and members only, provides an intimate, exclusive place to party late into the night.
From 4pm to 9pm, the Met Bar serves delectable Thai fare to a high-flying crowd. At night, it morphs into a sultry, lounge-style member’s bar with deep-club chairs and wine-dark walls.
Bar staff create innovative cocktails while headline DJs spin eclectic lounge sounds from around the world. All this is enjoyed under moody lighting and amidst the company of like-minded sybarites!
Nahm
David Thompson, famed for Michelin-starred Nahm restaurant at The Halkin hotel in London, has opened the Metropolitan's latest dining outlet.
Standout dishes include rare ingredients from all regions of Thailand. These include a jungle curry with pla chorn (a fresh water fish). There is also a colourful array of salty and sweet Thai desserts and an extensive wine menu.
Located on the ground floor of the hotel and looking out towards the pool, guests can dine within the cool interiors, or on the terrace. Nahm Bangkok is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner.
Spa
COMO Shambhala Urban Escape provides Asian-inspired therapies to treat mind, body and spirit.
Treatments include deep tissue massage, emotionally rebalancing holistic techniques and facials for restorative skincare.
Fitness Centre and Pool
Fitness-minded guests looking for fast and simple access to exercise at a Bangkok boutique hotel will find it at Metropolitan by COMO.
The fitness studio is equipped with the latest gear for a cardio workout, weight lifting or stretching. The 20m outdoor pool is great for swimming lengths.
