Pavilion Phnom Penh
Pavilion Phnom Penh
Pavilion Phnom Penh is a great boutique hotel in Phnom Penh, very centrally located, right by the Royal Palace and offering excellent value for money.
The Pavilion Phnom Penh Hotel is a charming 36-room boutique hotel in Phnom Penh with a main building dating from the mid-twenties, allegedly built by Queen Kossamak, King Sihanouk's mother.
The architecture is an original combination of Khmer and French colonial styles and the location offers views over the Botum Royal Pagoda. Most rooms feature a private garden or terrace and there are 4 rooms with private plunge pools.
What’s so Special?
The 14-metre long pool in the garden by the entrance is great for swimming, with plenty of space to relax around it on large Central Asian day beds. The garden surrounding the pool is very attractive, with Coconut trees, Jasmine and Plumeria.
The main building itself gives this place a real sense of character and history with a lobby furnished with antiques and Khmer furniture.
Bear in mind
Don’t expect luxury accommodation (the rooms are fairly Spartan), but the Pavilion is really excellent value and very popular, so book well in advance if possible.
Pavilion Phnom Penh is perfect for couples but doesn’t accommodate children under 16 years old.
There are 36 rooms and suites in total at the Pavilion Phnom Penh.
Rooms are clean and pleasant, but the Pavilion is a guesthouse and does not offer the facilities of a larger hotel.
Double and Twin Rooms
Double and Twin rooms are the most basic rooms. These smaller (15 - 30 sq. m) rooms are really affordable but still furnished and decorated in the same spirit of timeless refinement.
Superior Double Rooms
These rooms (20 - 30 sq. m) are either wood and glass bungalows with private patios, or rooms in one of the buildings, some with garden view balcony.
Deluxe Double Rooms
This spacious double room with balcony overlooks the pool and gardens.
Jacuzzi Bungalow
This is an elegant wooden and glass structure nestled in the gardens of the hotel, featuring a queen-size bed, private patio and open-air jacuzzi (not heated) surrounded by bushes and trees.
Studio
These rooms combine a large bedroom with 1 king-size bed, an airy sitting area equipped with two couch-beds (90x 200 cm) and a comfy sofa.
Private Pool
The ideal hideaway for a romantic stay in Phnom Penh, with the bedroom and separate bathroom opening to a private patio and its 6 x 3 m plunge pool (not heated).
Suites
The Suites are the roomiest type of accommodation typically consists of two connecting rooms, separated by thick curtains or a partition wall, with one king-size bed and two sofa-beds (90 x 200 cm).

Facilities
There are two swimming pools at the Pavilion Phnom Penh - the Lush Pool and the Sun Pool.
At the time of writing, cake, coffee and juice were being served complimentary all day by the Sun Pool.
The main pool is a really nice feature. Long enough to swim lengths, the pool is a great temptation after a long day sightseeing around Phnom Penh.

What Kind of Cambodia Holidays to you organise?
All of our Cambodia holidays are private tailor made itineraries, customised for you - we can amend things to entirely suit you.
You will have your own private car, driver and guide on excursions.
How much time you have with a guide is up to you. Some people like to have a driver and guide on all or most days, some of our customers want to be totally independent.
Overall, we find a mix of guided excursions and free time to explore is usually best.
What are the departure dates?
Let us know your preferred dates of travel and we will find the best and most suitable flights to fit your itinerary.
As all of our holidays to Cambodia are private tours, there are no set departure dates.
Which Airlines do you use?
We work with all the major airlines flying to this part of the world.
Typically for Cambodia, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates or Vietnam Airlines would be airlines we would often use.
However, just let us know your preferred airline if you have one. We can organise flights from any regional destination in the UK.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Cambodia currently.
Which Hotels do you use?
We're careful with our choice of hotels, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know - almost certainly we can incorporate it
We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels where we think these will be suitable.
There is a great choice of boutique and luxury hotels in Phnom Penh and in Siem Reap and increasingly along the Cambodian Riviera.
Once you head out from these three mains areas, accommodation options decrease although there are a handful of nice boutique hotels in the provinces.
We keep on top of hotel developments in Cambodia from our office in Vietnam and regularly inspect the hotels we use.
Do you cater for Solo Travellers & Families?
Yes, we have many solo travellers and Cambodia is a very safe, friendly and welcoming destination for those travelling alone.
River cruises on the Mekong in Cambodia are a popular option for solo travellers, especially with Pandaw Cruises who offer no Single Supplements on many departures.
Cambodia is a great destination for families if enough thought is given to creating the right itinerary and a family holiday to Cambodia goes especially well with neighbouring Thailand or Vietnam.
Children of all ages tend to love the Temples at Angkor - it can feel like a real adventure, as does a visit to the Cardamom Mountains in the West of Cambodia.
Road conditions mean travel off the beaten track in Cambodia can be a little bit long, with bumpy or dusty roads so bear that in mind.
How long have you been organising holidays to Cambodia?
We've been organising tailor made holidays to Cambodia for over 10 years.
Our team has a wealth of combined experience in the industry and our Director has been involved in organising holidays to Cambodia since the early 1990's - whilst Pol Pot was still living in the jungle close to Siem Reap.
Our partners on the ground in Cambodia have over 20 years experience in operating there.
They understand the country extremely well and have a strong infrastructure of staff, guides and vehicles within Cambodia. We've had the same partnership for over 10 years.
Where can I combine a holiday to Cambodia with?
Many people visit Cambodia as a stand-alone destination although once you are away from Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, the infrastructure and accommodation is nowhere near as developed.
Cambodia and Vietnam or Laos (or all three) sit perfectly together and there are good connecting flights between Cambodia and Vietnam in particular.
Combining Cambodia with neighbouring Thailand is another popular and easy option.
A Mekong River Cruise between Vietnam and Cambodia is a superb way to combine both destinations.
How do I organise a holiday through you?
It's simple - give us a call on 0333 7000 747 and speak to a Cambodia expert, or send us an email on sales@jasmineholidays.co.uk with some details of what you need.
However far you are down the road of thinking about your trip, we will be able to put an itinerary and costs together for you and tailor something to suit your requirements.
Touring Cambodia
A stay at the Pavilion Phnom Penh can be incorporated into a tour of Cambodia or Indochina.
We have a selection of suggested Cambodia tours which include Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and beyond.
A stay in Phnom Penh is essential to get a true feel for Cambodia since it's the capital city and the most populated and dynamic city in Cambodia.
A stay of 2 nights is the minumum you should consider for Phnom Penh as there is plenty to see and do and the city itself has a pleasant leafy feel with its wide French boulevards and riverside walkway.
Phnom Penh is often included at the start or the end of a tour of Cambodia since many flights arrive and depart from here.
It's also possible to travel overland (or by water) between here and Saigon in Vietnam.
