Mount Popa is an extinct volcano in Central Burma, about 50 km South East of Bagan and famous as a pigrimage site and for its numerous shrines and relics.
Mount Popa is a magnificent site rising from the plains and makes for an excellent add on to a visit to Bagan or en-route to Kalaw and Inle Lake.
Popa Mountain Resort offers a comfortable base for a night by the mountain, especially if travelling on to Kalaw and Inle. The views from this small hill top resort are superb.
