Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest in Rwanda’s Southwest is the reason visitors come to explore some of Africa’s oldest jungle.
High biodiversity and very little development mean Nyungwe is one of the most spectacular accessible stretches of rainforest in Africa.
The primates in Nyungwe are of course a major attraction, but birders will be enthralled here and the lush rainforest is rewarding in itself and includes East Africa’s largest expanse of Cloud Forest.
The canopy walkway in Nyungwe, at a height of 50 metres offers a great experience and a highlight of a visit to Nyungwe.
